The Department of Transportation requires all Commercial Drivers License (CDL) holders to receive periodic physical examinations to ensure the ability of the driver to safely operate a commercial vehicle. As a result, there are a large number of individuals who will require CDL physical examinations. Some examples include:
Discussion regarding intake information, health history, surgeries, medications, physicians, etc.
Height and Weight
Blood Pressure
Pulse
Forced Whisper Test
Snellen Eye Chart
Color blind test (red, green, amber)
Visual and manual inspection of skin, eyes, ears, nose, throat
Auditory and palpatory inspection of lung, heart, and abdomen
Manual muscle and sensory testing
Reflexes
Urine dipstick test to measure sugar, protein, blood and specific gravity
CDL and Non CDL DOT Regulated Physical inclusive of urinalysis

Any driver diagnosed with or taking medication for Diabetes will be required to have an A1C within 6 months of exam.
*There is a $5 charge for use of credit card on DOT Services
